Taitaja9 is a competition for 9th graders of upper comprehensive schools in craftsmanship. The aim of the competition is to improve knowledge of practical subjects, particularly on technical and textile handicrafts, in a fun and inspiring way.

The 9th graders form a mixed team of three people. The team members may come from different classes as long as they come from the same school. The chosen team signs up for the local qualifying, from where the best teams then continue on to the regional qualifying.  Local and regional qualifyings are organised by vocational institutes.

The national final takes place in the Taitaja 2010 event in Oulu on 27th April, 2010. Every member of the winning team will be awarded with a brand new scooter!
